Quitting smoking requires a commitment, planning and support. A variety of resources are available to help you quit.
TCC Student Health Services offers information, assistance and cessation classes for TCC students and employees on all campuses.
Full-time employees covered by TCC health insurance policies have additional resources available to support their efforts to become tobacco-free. Check with your individual insurance carrier to determine coverage.

The American Lung Association offers these seven tips to help you give up smoking for good:
1. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the various treatments, both over-the-counter and prescription, available to help you quit smoking.
3. Take time to plan. Pick a quit day, gather your resources and map out your quit strategies ahead of time. Begin working your plan on your quit day.
4. Get some exercise every day. This reduces stress and improves your mood.
5. Eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of sleep.
6. Ask family, friends and co-workers for help and support.
7. You don’t have to quit alone. Consider joining a stop-smoking program like Freedom From Smoking® (www.ffsonline.org) from the American Lung Association.
